For the same very good reasons that we don't allow mobile phones we also don't allow other electronic gadgets. Laptops, portable TVs, iPods, Nintendos, PDAs or any electronic games or gadgets that require charging aren't allowed. Even Tetris-style cheaper games are not suitable for the camping environment.

Consider:

1. Tents have nowhere for you to plug in your chargers.

2. Few mains sockets mean arguments and chargers go missing.

2. Campsites and tents can be damp places - not good for electronics.

3. There's a lot of packing and unpacking going on and stuff is easily lost.

4. Tents aren't secure so it's not safe to leave valuable electronic stuff in the tents or even in the buildings.

5. There's *so* much to do at camp you'll probably not have time to use them.

Small radios, MP3 players or CD players are allowed but must not be played loudly or after lights out. They also are taken at your own risk. Leaders cannot be held responsible for them.

The campsite has its own supply of sports equipment and we take a large selection of games and sports kit ourselves.

There's *loads* to do and lots of mischief to be made without electronic kit going "beep beep crunch" as it gets trodden on or dropped in a puddle :-)

In addition, the following items are NOT ALLOWED and WILL BE CONFISCATED if found:

1. Knives of any kind, including Swiss Army Style. Just because it's also got a magnifying glass doesn't mean we won't confiscate it.

2. Alcoholic drinks of any kind including alcopops. The leaders will always confiscate any inappropriate drinks and these may not be returned (such beverages seems to disappear before they can be returned at the end of camp).
